A Little About The Original Firehouse:

1953 – The actual Fire Station was built about 1953. It is the Original Fire Station for Kitty Hawk and the surrounding areas of Duck, Kill Devil Hills and Southern Shores. The Fire Station was purchase from the town of Kitty Hawk by a local historian David Stick in 1967 and converted into a popular book store. Francis Meekins another local historian purchased the station in 1974.

The Firehouse was sold to its present owner Ermino Mazzarino in 1998. The Firehouse was remodeled and modernized to modern commercial standards in 1998 and converted to its present use. I have retained features of the original Fire-station as a tribute to the hard-work, dedication and sacrifice demanded of the volunteers that manned and served our community for those many years.
